Who are FareShare?
FareShare rescues surplus food that might otherwise go to waste, redistributing it to organisations supporting vulnerable people. In Sussex and Surrey alone, they deliver enough food for 2.14 million meals annually, supporting 16,560 people every week. It’s staggering to think that in the UK, 13.4 million people, including 4 million children, live in food poverty.
Rivervale’s partnership with FareShare is a testament to the power of collaboration, community, and sustainability. By supporting one another, we can make a real impact and create a better future for everyone. As we look ahead, we hope to inspire other businesses to follow suit, using their resources and time to make a meaningful difference in their communities.

FareShare Sussex & Surrey Chooses Rivervale MAXUS for a Greener Future
In a move to align operations with their environmental, social, and governance goals, FareShare Sussex & Surrey has chosen to go electric. By investing in the highly acclaimed MAXUS eDeliver 9 vans, the charity is furthering its commitment to sustainability while continuing to serve the community.
The MAXUS eDeliver 9 is a state-of-the-art, fully electric van that offers high performance, ample cargo space, and zero emissions. This addition to FareShare's fleet is a game-changer, reducing their carbon footprint while also contributing to cleaner, greener communities. The environmental benefits are clear, but the long-term cost savings from switching to electric over traditional fuel is expected to significantly change their vehicle budget in the next year.

Going Further Together: The London to Paris EV Rally
FareShare’s commitment to sustainability doesn’t stop with their new fleet. In a demonstration of their commitment to promoting eco-friendly transport, FareShare Sussex & Surrey participated in the inaugural London to Paris Electric Vehicle Rally alongside Rivervale MAXUS. This event highlighted the potential of electric vehicles, particularly light commercial vehicles, in helping to reduce carbon emissions and promote a greener future.
"We are honoured to have FareShare Sussex & Surrey as our valued customers, and we’re excited that they have chosen the MAXUS eDeliver 9 Vans for their fleet expansion," said Rob Semple, Brand Manager of Rivervale MAXUS. "Our partnership is built on shared values, and together, we are championing the adoption of electric vehicles to create a greener society. We look forward to showcasing the tremendous potential of electric vehicles."

Rivervale’s Christmas Contribution: Supporting the Community with Heart
At Rivervale, our commitment to community support goes beyond providing sustainable vehicles. This past Christmas, we took an active role in supporting FareShare Sussex & Surrey, when demand for food donations is at its highest. Recognising the importance of helping those in need, we loaned a MAXUS eDeliver 9 van to supplement FareShare's fleet. This helped them increase their capacity to distribute food to even more people.
This collaboration reflects the true spirit of Christmas—helping those who are struggling and making a tangible difference in their lives. It was a moving experience for all involved and a reminder that corporate social responsibility is about more than just financial donations—it’s about being present, engaging with the community, and lending a helping hand when it's needed most.
