Rivervale Named Commercial Vehicle Partner of Brighton Marathon Weekend 2023
Rivervale MAXUS, the only MAXUS Dealer in East and West Sussex, was proud to be the official Commercial Vehicle Partner for the Brighton Marathon Weekend, one of the UK's most popular running events.
Rivervale supplied the Brighton Marathon organisers with a fleet of MAXUS eDeliver 3 and eDeliver 9 to aid with the setup and derig of the event. These all-electric vans emit zero emissions and offer high performance, large load capacity and long driving range. By using these eco-friendly vehicles, Rivervale and the Brighton Marathon demonstrated their commitment to reducing their environmental impact and promoting sustainable transport solutions.
On the big day itself, in Marathon Village on Hove Lawns, Rivervale displayed the MAXUS T90EV, the UK's first all-electric pickup truck. To showcase the impressive capabilities of the T90EV, Max Smith who operates Max’d Out PT Studio kindly lent a treadmill which was then powered directly from the truck. Participants and spectators were then invited to walk, jog or run to collectively complete a marathon distance of 26.2 miles.
The treadmill challenge was a great success, attracting a great number of people who wanted to test their fitness and support a good cause. Together, we managed to complete a marathon and raise just over £300 for the Rockinghorse Children’s Charity, a local organisation that supports sick children and their families.
As a company who cares about the environment, Rivervale didn’t want to give away water in plastic bottles, so approached local firm Life Water; who kindly donated enough recyclable cans of water to keep participants and staff hydrated throughout the day.
Bud Johnston, Group Marketing Director at Rivervale, said: "We're thrilled to be part of the Brighton Marathon Weekend and showcase our innovative and eco-friendly commercial vehicles. The MAXUS T90EV is a game-changer for the industry, offering zero-emission performance, high payload capacity and advanced technology. We're also delighted to support the Rockinghorse Children’s Charity and help them make a difference for children in need."
Ralph Turner, Partnerships Manager of the Brighton Marathon Weekend, said: "We're very grateful to Rivervale for their partnership and their contribution to our event. The treadmill challenge was a fun and engaging way to involve our runners and visitors and raise awareness of the benefits of electric vehicles. We look forward to working with Rivervale again in the future."
