Polestar 4 design overview

The Polestar 4 blends coupé aerodynamics with SUV practicality, delivering a sleek, low-slung silhouette without compromising interior space. Clean body surfacing, flush glazing, and sharp LED lighting give it a futuristic look, with an offering of five exterior colours: Snow, Magnesium, Electron, Storm, and Space – adding subtle personalisation.

One of the Polestar 4’s most talked-about features is the removal of the rear window, replaced by a rear-facing HD camera. This improves rear visibility while allowing more headroom for rear passengers, reinforcing Polestar’s design-led approach.

Interior, cabin quality and comfort

Inside, the Polestar 4 delivers a calm, spacious, and premium cabin, finished with sustainable materials and optional Nappa leather upholstery from Bridge of Weir.

A panoramic glass roof comes as standard, with an optional electrochromic roof that switches from transparent to opaque at the touch of a button. Ambient lighting inspired by the solar system wraps around the cabin, with nine planetary lighting themes to create a relaxing atmosphere.

Passenger space and practicality

Thanks to the absence of a rear window and a long wheelbase, rear-seat passengers benefit from excellent head- and legroom. Electric reclining rear seats, rear heating controls, and a dedicated rear touchscreen elevate comfort for second-row passengers.

Boot capacity measures 526 litres, expanding to 1,536 litres with the rear seats folded. The virtual rear window allows luggage to be stacked higher without affecting rear visibility, making the Polestar 4 a practical family EV as well as a design statement.

Polestar 4 performance and driving experience

The Polestar 4 is offered with two long-range powertrains:

  • Long range Dual motor (AWD):
  •  536 bhp (400 kW)
  •  0 - 60 mph: 3.7 seconds
  •  Range: up to 367 miles

  •  Long range Single motor (RWD):
  •  268 bhp (200 kW)
  •  0 - 100 km/h: 6.9 seconds
  •  Range: up to 385 miles

Both versions deliver smooth, instant acceleration, while the all-wheel-drive model features a front motor disconnect to improve efficiency when full power isn’t needed.

Handling, steering and suspension

Polestar has focused on delivering a confident and engaging drive. Adjustable steering feedback lets drivers choose between light, standard, or firm settings, while one-pedal driving simplifies urban journeys.

Suspension options include high-capacity passive dampers on the Single motor version and active ZF dampers with coil springs on the Dual motor model. The result is a composed ride that balances comfort with control, even on larger wheel options.

Range and charging

With a maximum WLTP range of 385 miles, the Polestar 4 is well suited to long-distance driving.

  •  DC rapid charging: 10 - 80% in approximately 30 minutes
  •  Home charging: 0 - 100% in around 5.5 hours

Features such as pre-entry climate control and efficient thermal management help preserve real-world range in colder conditions.

Technology and infotainment

The 15.4-inch frameless centre display runs Android Automotive OS with Google built-in, including Google Maps, Google Assistant, and access to the Google Play Store. Wireless Apple CarPlay is also included.

Over-the-air updates keep the Polestar 4’s software current, while the Polestar app allows drivers to check charging status, control climate settings, and lock or unlock the car remotely. Digital Key support integrates seamlessly with Apple Wallet.

Audio and connectivity

An optional Harman Kardon premium sound system delivers up to 1,400 watts through 16 speakers, including headrest-mounted speakers for clearer phone calls and navigation prompts. The Cabin is quiet, with no outside road noise, making driving seamless.
