BYD is launching a new seven-seat plug-in hybridSUV to rival premium-segment rivals like the Land Rover Defender.

Ti7 Arriving This Summer

The boxy, bold designed Ti7 is set to arrive this summer. It it spacious inside and is perfect for everyday usability. Full detail;s will but published closer to the time but BYD has confirmed a sub five second 0-62mph, which is very impressive for a large SUV.

Powering the Ti7

The PHEV powertrain will utilise a 1.5-litre petrol engine and two electric motors, providing all-wheel-drive capabilities.

BYD has not yet confirmed the car's battery capacity, but it has claimed a zero-emission range of 79 miles which is enough to secure a 7% BIK (Benefit-in-kind) rate for company car tax.

Measurements

The Ti7 measures 5,146mm long, 1,995mm wide and 1,865mm tall. In China, it's sold under the Fangchengbao brand as a rival to Land Rover and Volvo models.
