Collaboration: BMW Group is cooperating with Rimac Technology (Croatia) on the all-electric BMW i7. Objective: Develop an innovative high-voltage battery system for more range and faster charging.

Technology

Uses Gen6 eDrive technology, which was developed by BMW to create an innovative, high-voltage storage system for more range and a higher charging speed for the all-new electric BMW 7 Series Sedan. It features 4695 lithium-ion cylindrical cells. It has 20% higher volumetric energy density compared to Gen5 prismatic cells. Combining Gen6 cell technology with Gen5 module design.

Production

The battery is manufactured on advanced equipment at Rimac Technology, Croatia. Delivered ready for assembly at BMW Group Plant Dingolfing (exclusive BMW 7 Series production facility).
