A design that looks to the past to shape the future of Porsche

The architecture takes the car back to the past but also enhances a futuristic look. Historic Porsche icons serve as a source of inspiration.
The Porsche Mission S draws inspiration from some of the brand’s most iconic models. Its round headlights and pronounced wheel arches echo the classic 911, while the integrated light graphics pay tribute to the G model. The low front end takes inspiration from the GT1, and the sweeping roofline, which flows towards the rear wing, references the legendary 959. A distinctive rear design, also inspired by the GT1, brings these heritage details together in a modern interpretation of Porsche’s timeless design language.

Less Screen, More Driving

Porsche has avoided integrating a central touchscreen and instead, combines five signature round instruments, physical controls - which we all miss in most modern cars - and flexible smartphone integration.

This approach is refreshing and takes people back to the familair routes they may miss. As much as we love the technology in modern cars, we are always searching for quick physical buttons, so this is a feature we personally love!

Racing Heritage with a Modern Stance

The Porsche Mission S in cases Porsche's motorsport DNA, from the 550 Spyder to the GT1 and 917. As mentioned previously, the Mission S was created from historic influences and embodies styling features and engineering philosophy from them.

What comes next for Porsche?

The Porsche Mission S could mark the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the German sports car manufacturer. While the 911 remains one of the brand’s most recognisable models, Porsche has announced plans to develop a new mid-engined supercar platform that will sit above it in the line-up.

Unlike previous flagship models such as the Carrera GT and 918 Spyder, the new supercar is intended to become a permanent addition to Porsche’s range, rather than a limited-run special.

The Mission S offers an early glimpse of what this future could look like, combining motorsport-inspired styling, a mid-engined layout and a driver-focused interior. However, Porsche has yet to confirm the production car’s final name, performance figures, pricing or launch date, leaving plenty still to discover.

One thing is clear: Porsche wants to push its performance ambitions further while staying true to the qualities that have defined the brand for generations. If the Mission S is anything to go by, the next chapter could be one to watch.
