Kia EV5 Review: Is This the Electric Family SUV to Beat?
The electric family SUV market is becoming increasingly crowded, but the Kia EV5 manages to stand out by doing something refreshingly straightforward: it combines good range, plenty of space, useful technology and genuine SUV practicality without making everyday life unnecessarily complicated.
I recently spent time with the range-topping Kia EV5 GT-Line S AWD with the 81.4kWh battery, driving it across motorways, dual carriageways, urban roads and some of the B-roads around the South Downs.
Having lived with it properly, I think the EV5 could be one of the most convincing all-round electric family SUVs currently available.
It might not offer the headline-grabbing acceleration of some rivals or the ultra-fast charging of Kia’s own EV6 and EV9, but what it does offer is a remarkably complete package.
