Vauxhall has expanded its Frontera SUV range with a new 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine, offering a more affordable entry point with prices starting at £22,820.
The new engine produces 100PS and 205Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed manual gearbox. It returns up to 47.1mpg on the combined WLTP cycle and accelerates from 0–62mph in 12.4 seconds in five-seat form.
The petrol Frontera is available in three trim levels: Design, GS and Ultimate. The entry-level Design starts at £22,820, while the GS costs £25,220 and the range-topping Ultimate is priced at £26,020.
Standard equipment includes a 10-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, climate control and driver-assistance features. Higher trims add extras such as satellite navigation, wireless phone charging and heated seats.
For families needing extra space, seven seats are available as a £550 option on GS and Ultimate models.
The new petrol version joins the existing electric and 48V hybrid models, giving buyers more choice. Interestingly, Vauxhall states that the Frontera Electric is now only £475 more than the entry-level petrol version when the Government's Electric Car Grant is applied.
Orders for the new petrol Vauxhall Frontera are open now, with the model offering buyers another option in the increasingly competitive family SUV market.
