New generation of Mitsubishi models set to arrive from summer 2026
Mitsubishi Motors UK is officially returning to the UK market, marking a major comeback for one of Japan’s most recognisable automotive brands, with vehicles like the latest L200 and Outlander PHEV. After stepping back from introducing new passenger cars to Europe in recent years, Mitsubishi is now preparing a fresh line-up for UK buyers, with the first new models expected to arrive in approved retailers from summer 2026.
International Motors to oversee UK relaunch
The relaunch will be managed by International Motors, the importer responsible for bringing brands such as Subaru, Isuzu and GWM into the UK market. International Motors already operates Mitsubishi’s aftersales network in Britain, giving the company an established foundation as the brand prepares its return.
Focus on electrified SUVs and modern platforms
Mitsubishi’s comeback reflects growing confidence in the UK market and is expected to centre on electrified and SUV-focused models. The manufacturer previously built a strong reputation with vehicles such as the Outlander PHEV, one of the UK’s best-known plug-in hybrid SUVs, and future models are expected to continue that emphasis on hybrid and low-emission technology.
The returning range is also likely to benefit from the wider Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance, enabling Mitsubishi to introduce modern platforms, updated connectivity systems and advanced driver-assistance technology while maintaining its own design identity.
A new chapter for Mitsubishi in Britain
For UK retailers and long-time Mitsubishi customers, the relaunch represents more than just the return of a familiar badge. It signals the start of a new era for the brand in Britain - one built around electrification, renewed dealer support and a modern product line-up designed for today’s market.
