Powertrain and Performance

The upcoming Porsche Boxster EV will feature a high-performance electric powertrain, built on the Porsche Premium Platform Electric (PPE) for a blend of electrifying power and agile handling.

Higher-performance variants will use dual-motor all-wheel drive (AWD) for exceptional grip and stability, while the base model is expected to offer rear-wheel drive (RWD) with slightly lower power but retained agility.

Power outputs are projected to range from around 400 horsepower for base models to 600 horsepower for the Boxster Turbo. Acceleration will be rapid, with 0–60 mph achieved in just 3.5 seconds, maintaining Porsche’s signature sports car performance in an electric package.

Battery and Range

The Boxster EV is likely to feature a 100 kWh battery, providing an estimated range of 250-300 miles on a full charge, depending on driving conditions and the variant selected.

Porsche is also likely to include fast-charging capabilities, with the ability to charge from 5% to 80% in around 20-25 minutes using high-power charging stations, ensuring quick top-ups on longer drives.

Exterior Design

The Porsche Boxster EV will retain the iconic low-slung roadster silhouette while adding modern design touches. Sharp LED headlights and a more aggressive front bumper enhance its sporty look, and the Porsche crest maintains a clear link to its heritage.

Aerodynamic improvements reduce drag and optimise performance, while the short wheelbase preserves the agile, dynamic handling the Boxster is known for. The rear features a wide stance and minimalist styling, with no traditional exhausts to reflect the electric powertrain.

A soft-top roof continues to provide the classic open-air experience, while futuristic details like flush door handles add a modern edge to this electric roadster.

Interior Features

Inside, the Porsche Boxster EV continues the brand’s driver-focused philosophy, featuring a digital instrument clusterand a large touchscreen for media, navigation, and connectivity. Physical buttons handle key functions like climate control, keeping the cockpit intuitive and elegant.

The central console has a sleek, modern layout, complemented by premium materials such as leather and Alcantara, creating a luxurious environment for driver and passenger.

Despite being a compact roadster, the Boxster EV offers good cabin space for two adults and ample storage with both front and rear trunks, thanks to the repositioned electric powertrain.
