The Ford Explorer Van

Set to make its public debut at the 2026 CV Show, the Ford Explorer Van combines passenger car comfort with commercial vehicle functionality, offering a payload of up to 650kg and a range of up to 374 miles.

The model was developed by the Ford Pro Special Vehicles team following close engagement with fleet customers, ensuring the final product is shaped around real-world business needs.

Product manager for the Explorer Van, Niall Canavan, said the development process highlights the importance of simplicity and customer collaboration in delivering effective commercial solutions.

The conversion includes a purpose-built copolymer bulkhead designed to maintain safety systems such as airbags and rear visibility. Inside, the load area features a lightweight flat floor with movable dividers, lashing points, and rear window paneling to improve practicality and cargo security.

Fleet customers will also be able to choose from a range of optional packs, including steel wheels with all-terrain tyres, allowing the van to be tailored to different working environments.

The Explorer Van will be available with two powertrain options, offering either rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. The rear-wheel drive version delivers 285PS, while the four-wheel drive model produces 340PS.

Rapid charging capability of up to 135kW allows the battery to charge from 10 to 80 percent in around 25 minutes, helping minimise downtime for businesses.

With its combination of long range, strong performance, and flexible load space, the Ford Explorer Van is positioned as a versatile new option in the light commercial vehicle market.
