BMW iX3 40
The BMW iX3 40 offers up to 395 miles of range according to WLTP, thanks to its 82.6 kilowatt-hour high-voltage battery that uses high-density lithium-ion cylindrical cells integrated directly into the battery pack. The battery is built as a structural element of the vehicle, reducing weight and improving rigidity, and it supports ultra-fast charging at up to 300 kilowatts on 800-volt direct current stations, allowing drivers to add up to 186 miles of range in just ten minutes. Standard alternating current charging at 11 kilowatts is included with an optional professional package that increases AC charging to 22 kilowatts, allowing a full charge from empty in just over four hours. The iX3 40 is also capable of bidirectional charging, allowing energy to be shared with external devices or homes.
BMW iX3 40 Interior and Exterior: Sleek Design Meets Panoramic iDrive and Alexa+ Integration
BMW has redefined the exterior design of the iX3 40 with clean, precise lines, upright Sports Activity Vehicle proportions, and a reinterpretation of the brand’s signature kidney grille that uses light rather than chrome. The front and rear light signatures are distinctive and recognisable at all times of day, and the SUV’s broad shoulders and solid stance give it an authoritative presence on the road. Inside, the cabin introduces the BMW Panoramic iDrive system, which includes the Panoramic Vision display projected at the base of the windscreen and a free-cut central touchscreen, creating a clean, modern layout that keeps the driver fully in control while providing easy access to information for all passengers. The system combines touch, haptic, and voice-based interaction, and the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant has been upgraded with Amazon Alexa+ to allow conversational operation of vehicle functions and seamless integration with external services and cloud-based media.
BMW iX3 40: Advanced Technology and Dynamic Performance
The new electronics and software architecture of the iX3 40 includes four high-performance computers that provide more than twenty times the processing power of previous models, supporting dynamic handling and advanced driver assistance systems. The Heart of Joy control computer with BMW Dynamic Performance Control ensures agile, responsive driving, while the Soft Stop function allows smooth, quiet, and precise braking. The vehicle maintains BMW’s focus on driver enjoyment, comfort, and control while offering the efficiency, sustainability, and technology expected from a modern electric SUV. The BMW iX3 40 will be available in the United Kingdom from summer 2026 with pricing starting at £53,250 on the road and represents a significant step forward in BMW’s commitment to electrification, combining the performance and luxury of a premium SUV with the long-range capabilities, innovative features, and refined driving experience that define the Neue Klasse.
