About the Seltos
The Kia Seltos is one of Kia’s best-selling models globally and is set to launch in Europe for the first time. It will sit between the Kia Stonic and Kia Sportage in the brand’s line-up, strengthening Kia’s presence in the competitive compact SUV segment.
Pricing and Rivals
Full UK pricing is expected to be announced in Q3, ahead of an official launch in Q4. Entry prices are anticipated to start from around £30,000, positioning the Seltos against key rivals such as the Ford Puma, Renault Symbioz and Volkswagen T-Roc.
Platform and Powertrain
Underpinning the Seltos is the K3 platform, shared with models like the Kia Niro and Hyundai Kona. There are currently no plans for a fully electric version.
The Seltos HEV will offer both two-wheel drive and all-wheel drive options. The two wheel drive version produces 154PS, while the e AWD model delivers 178PS, marking the first time Kia has introduced Hyundai Motor Group’s e AWD system on this model.
Technology and Innovation
The Seltos also introduces vehicle to load or V2L capability to a hybrid model for the first time within Hyundai Motor Group. This feature, typically reserved for fully electric vehicles, allows the car to power and charge external devices directly.
In the Cabin
Inside, the Seltos features a modern and familiar layout, with a dual screen setup combining two 12.3-inch displays for the driver cluster and infotainment system.
As expected, it comes equipped with a wide range of driver assistance features, including highway driving assist, smart cruise control, lane following assist, surround view monitor and remote smart parking assist.
Additional highlights include a 5.3-inch climate control display, panoramic roof, premium Harman Kardon sound system and customisable 64 colour ambient lighting, creating a comfortable and tech focused interior.
