Two adventure icons have joined forces, and the result is the Avenger 4xe The North Face Edition – a compact, plug-free hybrid that promises real Jeep off-road ability in a city-friendly footprint. Limited to 4,806 numbered cars worldwide, it adds a dose of outdoor-gear cool and a serious bump in kit to the already capable Avenger 4xe.

Design & Build

HighlightDetails
Exterior accents17-inch black alloys with Summit Gold wheel-caps, bonnet-top anti-glare sticker carrying The North Face logo, and a gold skid-plate insert give the baby Jeep a purposeful stance.
Adventure-proof bodyworkExtra-tough bumpers, silver skid-plates and a functional rear tow-hook come as standard.
Colours‘Storm’ pastel grey, ‘Snow’ white and a vivid ‘Volcano’ red are exclusive here, each optionally available with a contrasting black roof.

Inside, washable performance seats mimic The North Face puffer jackets (front) and rucksacks (rear), trimmed with Summit Gold piping and logos. A topo-graphic dashboard and rubber floor-mats featuring Mont Blanc’s silhouette finish the theme. Fit and finish surpass most B-SUV rivals; plastics are hard-wearing rather than plush, yet switchgear feels robust.

Powertrain & Performance

  • Engine: 1.2-litre turbo-triple + 48 V mild-hybrid system
  • Combined outputs: 136 hp / 230 Nm
  • Transmission / Driveline: six-speed e-DCT with dual e-motors (front & rear) giving always-on e-AWD
  • 0–62 mph: 9.5 s | Top speed: 121 mph
  • WLTP fuel: 5.4–5.5 l/100 km (≈51.4 mpg) | CO₂ 122–125 g/km

On the road the extra rear e-motor adds a welcome shove out of junctions and makes the Avenger feel livelier than the figures suggest. The hybrid system can propel the car electrically at parking speeds and fills torque gaps between gearchanges, smoothing progress. At motorway pace a short sixth keeps the busy three-cylinder muted, although wind rustle around the boxy mirrors is noticeable.

Running Costs

With sub-130 g/km CO₂, the Avenger 4xe NF sits in the 30 % BIK band and qualifies for the £10 annual VED supplement (first-year £240). Jeep quotes 51 mpg. Crucially, there’s no plug-in faff for urban dwellers without a driveway, yet you still get electric-only manoeuvring and regenerative braking.

Pricing & Rivals

The OTR price is £35,219 – £2 k above the 4xe Overland. For context:

  • Toyota Yaris Cross AWD-i Dynamic: £32,415 – thriftier but down on space and off-road bite.
  • Suzuki Vitara Full-Hybrid AllGrip: £31,099 – cheaper, simpler, but noisier at speed.
  • Ford Puma EcoBoost Hybrid AWD (rumoured 2026): not yet on sale.

You’re paying a small premium for the North Face treatment, added kit and rarity – and it feels justified.

The Avenger 4xe The North Face Edition proves small crossovers needn’t be soft. It mixes authentic Jeep trail hardware with weekday usability, then wraps it in limited-edition styling that outdoorsy buyers will adore. If you want a compact SUV that can climb kerbs on Monday and conquer Snowdonia on Sunday – without ever visiting a charging cable – this is the one to put at the top of your shortlist.

Pros:

  • Genuine 4x4 tech
  • Classy adventure-themed cabin
  • Comprehensive spec
  • Manageable size
  • Looks awesome

Cons:

  • Premium pricing
  • Some cabin plastics - whilst are perfect for adventurers, this may seem a little ‘cheap’ for everday users
  • hybrid can’t do long EV running
