What is the Farizon SV?

The UK van market is about to welcome a fresh face. The Farizon SV is the first commercial vehicle from Geely’s dedicated van division, and it has been designed as an electric model from day one. With prices starting around £45,000 plus VAT, it arrives with high equipment levels and promises to challenge some of the biggest names in the sector.

Design and Interior

Unlike rivals that began life with diesel engines, the SV has been engineered as a pure EV. That means a clean, modern shape, with a huge windscreen pushed forward for better visibility and slim LED lighting. Inside, the driver gets a 12.3-inch touchscreen and a digital instrument cluster. Most importantly to some, there are still physical buttons for everyday functions. Heated and ventilated front seats are included as standard, as well as a heated steering wheel, which is a real surprise at this price point.

Range and Performance

Every SV uses a 231 PS electric motor delivering 336 Nm of torque through the front wheels. It is quick to respond in Sport mode, smooth in everyday driving, and quieter than many vans in its class. Three battery options are available: 67 kWh, 83 kWh, and 106 kWh. Ranges vary from 188 miles up to 247 miles WLTP combined, with up to 342 miles in city driving. Charging is competitive, while rapid charging from 20%–80% takes just 36 minutes.

Space and Practicality

The SV comes in five sizes, from compact L1H1 to full-size L3H3, with load volumes of up to 13 m³ and payloads of up to 1,350 kg. The loading floor sits at just 550 mm, one of the lowest in its class, making it easier to work with. There is even a real-time payload monitor, making it a practical tool for everyday business.

Safety and Tech

The SV is fitted with a broad safety package, including adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, automatic braking, and a driver monitoring system. The optional 270-degree rear doors improve access at loading bays, while a 360-degree camera system makes manoeuvring safer in tight urban settings.

Summary

The Farizon SV makes a strong impression for a newcomer. It does not reinvent the wheel, but it combines range, payload, and equipment into a package that looks ready for UK fleets and independent operators alike. It might not excel in every single area, but as an all-rounder, it is difficult to ignore. For businesses looking to future-proof their fleets, the SV could be the van that tips the balance towards going electric.
