The concept represents the brand's vision for the future, combining Italian design, sportiness and emotion.

Its name combines cuore (heart) and rosso (red), reflecting Alfa Romeo's passion and identity.

The concept is a design manifesto rather than a preview of a specific production model.

Alfa Romeo says its future range will include different powertrain options, including fully electric, plug-in hybrid, mild hybrid and full hybrid.

Future models could measure up to 4.7 metres long, with the potential for high-performance Quadrifoglio versions.

Exterior Design Inspired by Italian Sportiness

The Cuorerosso is a 2+2 coupé measuring 4,700mm long, 1,980mm wide and 1,331mm high. Its proportions combine the elegance of a traditional grand tourer with the presence of a supercar.

The exterior features a low wedge-shaped profile, a sharply cut rear end known as a Coda Tronca, and Alfa Romeo’s distinctive Scudetto grille and Trilobo front design. Telephone-style wheels provide another reference to the brand’s design heritage.

One of the concept’s most noticeable features is its Liquid Ink red paintwork, which changes its appearance depending on the surrounding light. The bodywork also incorporates rear-hinged doors and flush glazing, creating a cleaner overall profile.

Despite its focus on dramatic styling, Alfa Romeo has also considered aerodynamics, with the concept achieving a claimed drag coefficient of 0.28.

A Driver-Focused Interior

Inside, the Cuorerosso features four individual seats and a cockpit designed around the driver. Its layout takes inspiration from the 1967 Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale, combining references to the brand’s past with more modern technology.

The Cannocchiale Vivente instrument display can adapt its layout depending on the driving situation, reducing the amount of information shown when the driver is focused on the experience behind the wheel.

Meanwhile, the Magma Display combines digital touch controls with physical switches, aiming to retain a more tactile and engaging driving environment.

The concept also features Cruise, Sport and Quadrifoglio driving modes, alongside steer-by-wire technology with haptic feedback.

Sustainable Materials and New Technologies

Alfa Romeo has used a variety of materials throughout the cabin, including Poltrona Frau nubuck, regenerated leather containing 60% post-industrial waste and experimental recycled carbon fibre.

The dashboard also features a lightweight monofilament fabric inspired by Luna Rossa, connecting the concept’s interior design with the world of sailing.

These materials demonstrate how the brand is exploring new approaches to construction and cabin design while maintaining the premium feel expected from an Alfa Romeo.

Potential High-Performance Hybrid Power

Although the Cuorerosso remains a concept, Alfa Romeo has outlined the possibility of a high-performance configuration using a 2.9-litre V6 full-hybrid powertrain with Q4 all-wheel drive.

Other potential features include air suspension and Brembo carbon ceramic brakes, suggesting that performance would remain central to any high-performance interpretation.

However, Alfa Romeo has not confirmed a production model, final powertrain specifications or a launch date, so these details should be treated as an indication of possible future technology rather than confirmed production plans.

Other Highlights at the Paris Motor Show

Alongside the Cuorerosso, Alfa Romeo used the Paris Motor Show to showcase several other models and projects celebrating its heritage and current range.

The Edizione Luna Rossa special series was displayed across the Junior, Tonale, Giulia and Stelvio, ahead of the 2027 America's Cup.

The brand also presented a specially liveried 33 Stradale featuring a damask-inspired design. Production of the 33-unit series is already sold out. The car uses a twin-turbocharged V6 producing more than 630hp, with rear-wheel drive, a claimed top speed of 207mph and acceleration from 0–62mph in under three seconds.

A classic 1966 Duetto Spider was also on display, marking the 60th anniversary of the model. Elsewhere, the Bottega Alfa Romeo sensory exhibition explored the brand’s approach to design through materials, sounds and fragrances.

What the Cuorerosso Means for Alfa Romeo

The Cuorerosso offers a glimpse into how Alfa Romeo could evolve as the automotive industry moves towards electrification. Rather than presenting a confirmed future production car, it brings together the design themes, technologies and performance ideas the brand wants to explore.

With its dramatic exterior, driver-focused interior and potential hybrid powertrain, the concept reinforces Alfa Romeo’s intention to retain its distinctive Italian character while adapting to changing technology.

For now, the Cuorerosso remains a design and engineering statement, but it provides an indication of the direction Alfa Romeo hopes to take with its future models.
